The 'Artificial Nature' concept was developed in 2023. We focused on finding methods to stimulate pig's acute senses and reproductive instincts which could be implemented in a commercial sow farm standards.
Developing ideas for the 'AN' we kept in mind that a modern domesticated farm pig is closely related with its ancestor the wild boar.
Taking these facts into account and months of our observations of the instinctual behaviors exhibited everyday by pigs in the farm, we developed a concept solely dedicated for the mind of pigs. Being that a pig is an intelligent animal which is greatly affected by its environment we used this fact to make changes in the surroundings of their everyday habitat, which was confined to concrete and metal.
The principle idea of the AN concept is to stimulate the animals in the different stages of their reproductive cycle by creating specific ambient conditions, oriented in stimulating its mind and its senses.
The AN concept also involves a human - pig socializing sessions. The sessions are performed every day by 3 tamers, who concentrate on developing positive relations with the animals. The tamers play a big role in the overall well-being condition, the physical as well as the mental condition of the sows.
This is a very important part of the AN concept, the socializing sessions which create positive emotions in pigs and at the same time reduce fear and stress.
